David W. Schropfer is the Head of Mobile Commerce for The Luciano Group, a product development and advisory firm. In this role, he is responsible for building all products and delivering all services in the emerging industries of Mobile Payments and Mobile Commerce.
David is one of few experts with high-level experience in the three market segments intersecting to comprise Mobile Commerce: Payments, Telecom, and Retail. Combined with his exceptional analytical and negotiating skills, he designed and executed multiple products and services which have created tens of millions of dollars in new revenue.
A business development expert and experienced senior manager, he recently led the team that developed a national payment product — recruiting over 50 banks, credit unions, and processors for a client. He also led the analysis and development team for new national payment strategies for a Fortune 50 merchant.
David is the author of the book, “The Smartphone Wallet- Understanding the Disruption Ahead”, and the whitepaper, “Google Wallet and the New Payments Ecosystem.”

David frequently delivers keynote addresses and participates in expert panels on the topics of Mobile Commerce, Mobile Money, Mobile Payments, and Telecommunications. His interviews have been broadcast on NPR radio, CBC radio, Talk Radio One’s “The Stephen Spierer Show,” and MSNBC. His commentaries and research have been featured in American Banker Magazine, Fast Company, Capacity Magazine, NFC Times, Mobile Payments Today, and Payment Source Magazine.
Since graduating from Boston College, David earned an Executive MBA from the University of Miami. He has served on the Boards of Directors for private companies and a national non-profit. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and family.
